Environmental testing to start in The Bays Precinct
Soil and groundwater environmental testing will take place around Blackwattle Bay and the White Bay Power Station over the next couple of weeks, as part of the preparation for the long term transformation of the area.
The environmental testing, which is a standard part of planning activities, is designed to enable better understanding of the opportunities and constraints for the Precinct.
“Local tenants, businesses and user groups are being advised directly, but we also want to let the wider community know that environmental testing is about to get underway so when they see the equipment around Blackwattle Bay and White Bay Power Station they understand why it’s there and what it’s doing,” said Project Leader, Paul Hourigan.
“The testing, which is a standard part of planning activities, will help us set a baseline of information for future ideas for the Bays Precinct Urban Transformation Program.”
The testing will take place in standard work hours, unless otherwise specified, and will aim to minimise disruption for businesses, tenants, user groups, and visitors.
Any queries about the testing should be directed to Sarah Duignan, Senior Development Manager, UrbanGrowth NSW on (02) 9841 8786 or firstname.lastname@example.org
