Geotechnical testing in Blackwattle Bay
UrbanGrowth NSW will undertake geotechnical testing in the waters of Blackwattle Bay over the next month to help plan for the transformation of the Bays Market District, as part of The Bays Precinct Urban Transformation Program.
The testing will help UrbanGrowth NSW determine the condition of the seabed, which will assist with planning for the redevelopment of the Sydney Fish Market. The site testing is scheduled to begin on 6 February and be completed by the end of February, weather permitting.
Testing will take place during the hours of 7am – 6pm, with no work to be conducted on public holidays or weekends.
It is anticipated that there will be minimal impact associated with site testing.
The public may see equipment such as a drill rig and a barge within Blackwattle Bay.
